Hand Sanitizer vs UV Sterilizer
Are they the same thing?
A colleague asked this question at our product review meeting and someone thought the question was unnecessary.
First of all it is important to understand the difference.
But I say why not? The question is valid.
With the topic of hand sanitizers becoming much of a controversial topic, it is important to know that gel hand sanitizers are different from a uv sterilizer wand (often referred to as uv sanitizer too). The former is intended for use on your hands when you don't have any ready access to good old soap and water. The latter is effective on surfaces which includes furniture, seats, toys, that sort of thing.
I have both and I generally use the gel hand sanitizer for when I have just been out to the shops and before I drive off after my shopping I squirt some in my hands before touching my steering wheel. Or on my way to and from work.
When it comes to the uv sterilizer wand I generally use it for sanitizing the seats on the tube, my desk, inside of my car, my clothes, toilet seat and even my bed occasionally to get ride of mites.
It is also worth pointing out that uv light is not for the skin, hair or eyes!
